Download Bhashyam
Version 0.1.0 for macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
- Open the .dmg and drag Bhashyam into Applications.
- First launch: right-click Bhashyam in Applications and choose Open. If macOS still blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
- Allow access to Microphone, Accessibility and Input Monitoring when asked, then restart the app.
- Set the 🌐 / fn key to "Do Nothing" in System Settings → Keyboard.
- Hold fn and speak. That's it.

Which apps does Bhashyam work in?
Any app where you can type: email, chat, documents, browsers, code editors, AI chat boxes. Bhashyam types the text at your cursor, just like a keyboard.
Is the free plan really unlimited?
Yes. The free engine runs on your Mac, so it costs us nothing to run and there is no limit. Bhashyam picks the right model for your Mac's memory automatically.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. After the one-time model download, on-device dictation works completely offline. Pro uses the cloud and falls back to on-device when you're offline.
Why does macOS say the app can't be opened?
This early version isn't notarized by Apple yet. Right-click the app in Applications and choose Open, or click "Open Anyway" in System Settings → Privacy & Security. You only need to do this once.
Which Macs are supported?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. 8 GB of memory or more gives you the more accurate on-device model.
Is Windows coming?
Yes, Windows support is in progress. On Windows you'll hold Right Ctrl instead of fn.
